Quilting Adventures

Hello quilters,

I've been home a few days now following a teaching trip. I had the good fortune to teach for 4.5 days in New Braunfels TX at Quilting Adventures. It is held at T bar M Resort outside of San Antonio. The two organizers, Barbara and Alice, do a wonderful job in organizing this conference. There are 2 sessions to choose from with an interesting variety of teachers. If you are looking for a quilting treat check their website for next year's selections http://www.quilting-adventures.com/seminars/seminar_overview.htm

The accomodations are comfortable, the food is great, and the spring weather is mostly warm and sunny! There is a delightful quilt shop, Creations, on site and the classrooms are well lit and spacious.  The class I taught was a design and embroidery combination, and my students were very creative. Everyone had success with their class project and had good time. None of us wanted to go home at the end of the week.

Here is the small piece that I designed during class. When it is finished I'll call it Seven Susans, for black eyed susans. At this point it is pieced and fused together. Eventually it will be embroidered, beaded and machine quilted. Perhaps it will become a new pattern.

Have a great spring!

I like the golden "Susans" on the red background -- I especially like the black and white fabric you used in the border.

The black and white fabric was given to me by Ann Crutchfield when she took my class at Asilomar. The fabric seemed the perfect choice.
